In Person or Online

Are you finding it hard to say no in your relationships? Do you often people-please, have trouble setting boundaries, or grapple with a loud inner critic telling you that you aren’t good enough? If you struggle with self-confidence, experience worries, or face low moods, know that the most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. I’m here to help you transform that relationship.

Are you and your partner feeling disconnected? Are communication issues leading to repeated arguments without resolution? If you’re looking to strengthen your relationship before making a commitment, or if you’re hoping to enhance your friendship and conflict management skills, I can provide the tools you need. If your relationship is recovering from betrayal or an affair, or if you’re questioning whether to stay together, it’s essential to address these issues. Together, we’ll work toward understanding and improving your connection.

Individual Therapy

I work with individuals, ages 20 and older, regarding a variety of clinical issues including: anxiety and mood disorders, grief and loss, trauma, partner relationship issues, family relationship issues, self-confidence, coping with stress and life transitions. I am trained in a variety of therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.

Couples Therapy

I have a keen interest and expertise in couples counselling. I am the first and only Certified Gottman Therapist in Atlantic Canada which is the highest level of training in the Gottman Method. The Gottman Method of couples counselling is an evidence-based couples therapy based on 40 years of Dr. John Gottman’s ongoing research. The Gottman Institute was created by Drs. John and Julie Gottman and applies leading-edge research on marriage to practical down-to-earth therapy, and trains therapists committed to helping couples. No other approach to understanding why couples succeed or fail has relied on such intensive, detailed and long-term scientific study.

I see couples at all stages of a relationship including:
• couples who want to make sure they have the tools they need before they commit
• couples who want to improve their friendship and how they are managing conflict
• couples who are wondering if they should stay together
• couples who are trying to recovery from a betrayal or affair
• individuals who want to work on their relationship, but their partner is not interested in participating in couples therapy

7 Principles for Making Marriage Work Couples workshops

I am also a “7 Principles for Making Marriage Work” Leader and can provide couples workshops designed to help couples apply the Gottman’s research to their own marriages. These can be designed to accommodate groups of various sizes and number of hours of training. Dates for public workshops will be announced on this website, but I also can design workshops for groups on request.
